Learn to unlock

Put educational activity before entertainment

Learning goals let parents structure the order of screen time: complete the configured educational requirement first, then unlock the entertainment portion of the approved feed.

What learning goals do

They create an access rule. They do not automatically make every educational video effective, and they do not replace choosing good content. The parent still decides which channels and learning modules belong in the child’s setup.

A typical learning-first flow

  1. The child opens a feed containing parent-approved sources.
  2. The configured learning requirement is visible.
  3. Educational activity advances the goal.
  4. When the requirement is complete, the entertainment portion of the approved feed becomes available.

See the learning-first example setup for a concrete illustration.

Keep the goal achievable

A requirement that is consistently frustrating will become a conflict rather than a useful routine. Start with a goal your child can understand and complete, then adjust based on experience.

For younger children, a simpler educational requirement may be more appropriate. Older children may be able to handle broader learning modules or longer-form educational content.

Combine goals with time limits

A learning goal determines sequence, while a daily watch limit determines total viewing time. They solve different problems and can be used together.

WonderKid TV’s product positioning is “learning before entertainment,” not “more screen time is always better.” The parent remains in control of both the content and duration.

Common learning-goal questions

Does a learning goal guarantee learning?

No. It structures access and adds educational activity, but outcomes depend on content quality, the child, and how the family uses the feature.

Can I use learning goals with an approved-only feed?

Yes. The learning rule sits on top of the parent-approved content model.
